Cost 

Hourly

Hourly rate for all services other than those described including all noise isolation details or designs.  Pro-rated for each 1/4 hour.  Can be used as an option for small projects or added to any project.

First hour of Initial consult and all site inspections

The first hour of a site visit or meeting.  This service is not included in any other service listed except a Project Review.

Room Test

Using a computer program and related equipment the room and/or system is tested.  Many parameters of the room and system performance are looked at including; frequency response, speaker and seating positions, decay times (RT60), Energy Time Decay, subwoofer integration, psychoacoustic frequency response, impulse response.

Project Review

Site inspection, review of building plans to identify potential areas of concern for noise or performance, summary of findings

Equalization

Setup and test system with 1-2 channels of parametric equalizers installed.  Add $50 each for additional channels.  Focus is on system setup and not room acoustics.

Room Design

Basic

Includes a basic modal analysis, seating and speaker locations, do-it-yourself materials, simple plan and  simple elevation drawings and short descriptive text supporting the drawings.  Note: The Level One design is intended to correct the worst problems with simple materials with hands-on involvement of the client.  Drawings (plan and one elevation) and text are not highly detailed.  Shoebox shaped rooms only.

Foundation

Basic plus: CAD room modeling for shoebox shaped rooms (or nearly so), use of more advanced acoustical materials including the use of diffusion and low frequency control devices; simple descriptions of noise isolation (door, wall and ceiling types) and limited HVAC noise review specific to the one room.  Details for noise control construction are on a per hour basis,  Note: This level of design offers a higher level of room correction and drawings (plan, one elevation, front view) detail than the Basic design.

Priority

Foundation plus: Any shaped room, CAD modeling with a higher level of accuracy/detail,  noise survey, includes possible use of all acoustical devices, one inspection of the construction of the room (may take the form of discussions with the builder, interior decorator, architect, etc; up to 2 hours) and related trades.  *These rooms almost always need an acoustical contractor to install materials and have stretched fabric hiding all the acoustical materials.

Hourly

Advanced    Room  Tuning

Testing equipment and various acoustical devices are brought into a room with existing operating A/V system and the room is tuned by listening and testing with the temporary addition of acoustical materials.   This is intended to refine acoustical treatment for rooms that already have acoustical materials installed, usually before acoustical fabric hides the acoustical materials.  Requires room to be available for 6-8 hours.  Recommended improvements will be given to the customer for final approval.  Note: May delay completion of the room and change material costs.
